Sense of Place

Installation
Sense of place, 2015

“Sense of place” is an intuitive art installation in which spectators can be enhaced. In the installation visitors are emerged in a biophilic world through a multi-sensory experience. By encorporating elements of dripping water, audio, a fresh brease and a moment of silence Gwen explores the eco-centric approach in an anthropocene age.

These diverse elements in the space will create a total experience. In the art installation the intuition of a human plays a key role. Intuition is one of the highest uses of our mind.

This intuition is the most active when we are surrounded by nature. It gives us the opportunity to give space to emotions and thoughts and get back to yourself. At the same time nature gives humans the feeling to be a part of the larger entirety. Altogether, nature in combination with the human psyche provides a refreshing, lively and energetic experience in which the spectator gets the opportunity to consume the environment with all their senses.

The direct human involvement and participation within the installation makes the individual, in stead of observing only, interacting with the essentials of nature through art. Altogether, “Sense of place” takes spectators on a journey of sensory wonderment.
